I remember reading a book in middle school called “ The Skin I’m In.” It was about a little girl that was teased because of the complexion of her skin. She then meets a teacher that had her own facial defects, but was able to convince the little girl that she too, could be comfortable and confident in the way God made her to be. The teacher taught her not to allow the opinions of others to define who she was, or even how she perceived herself. Everyone can look in the mirror and find flaws and things that they would like to change about themselves. At the end of the day we will never be completely satisfied , until we not only accept, but appreciate the skin that we are in. God has hand crafted everyone of us uniquely, and makes no mistakes . Focus on the things that are true . “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. “ Phil 4:8
